BlockByte was founded in 2021 by James Brannan, with backgrounds spanning management consulting (Monitor Deloitte, STAX), fintech (Zip Co), and financial services.
We started as a digital asset brokerage. As the market matured we kept meeting the same problem: serious holders with no plan for what happened to their Bitcoin if they died, and lawyers with no way to draft for an asset they didn't understand.
Today we're focused exclusively on solving that gap - multisig self-custody and digital asset estate planning, designed together so that a holder's wishes are enforced, not just written down.
